Core body of work
The Forbidden Series is an ongoing body of work exploring what society chooses to suppress, hide, or mark as forbidden. Each piece examines restriction from within — the frames we impose on ourselves, and those imposed on us by culture, power, and fear.
Rendered across acrylic, oil, and mixed media, the series uses dense layering and textural contrast to surface what normally remains concealed. The work asks why certain images, emotions, and truths are kept from sight — and what it costs us to keep them there.
Each of the twelve works in the series is numbered — not titled. The anonymity is intentional. The pieces resist being pinned to a single reading; the restriction lives in the act of looking as much as in the subject.
Materials span acrylic, gouache, oil pastel, and mixed media on canvas and board. Scale ranges from A5 to 24×36 inches. All works are currently in private collections or retained in the studio.
